Building bridges across generations: how Move & Groove 2025 combined physical wellbeing, digital literacy, and community celebration into an unforgettable summer afternoon.
In August 2025, Connect Talent CIO hosted its annual Move & Groove Summer celebration at Pendleton Gateway in Salford. The festival brought together over 120 local residents, voluntary sector partners, and local leaders for an energizing day focused on digital accessibility, holistic mental wellbeing, and cultural diversity.
The event highlighted the importance of intergenerational learning—pairing youth volunteers with older community members to share digital skills in an upbeat, celebratory environment.
A Vibrant Gathering of Salford Communities
The festival kicked off with an engaging welcome from the Connect Talent leadership team, highlighting our charity's ongoing mission to bridge the digital gap across Greater Manchester. Exhibition tables provided one-on-one technology support, health advice, and career signposting.
Hands-On Technology Demonstrations & Learning Pods
Throughout the afternoon, volunteers set up interactive digital learning pods. Participants received guidance on online banking, NHS digital services, video calling loved ones, and avoiding online scams in a friendly, non-intimidating setting.
Celebrating Cultural Diversity, Food & Fellowship
No Move & Groove celebration is complete without shared food and uplifting music. Guests enjoyed complimentary cultural refreshments, fostering deep conversations and new friendships among neighbours from diverse ethnic backgrounds.
