Celebrating 12 months of empowerment: from digital independence to heartfelt community solidarity across Salford.
On Monday, 15th December 2025, Connect Talent CIO hosted its Annual End of Year Community & Volunteer Gala at Pendleton Gateway. The celebratory event brought together over 130 adult learners, volunteer tutors, community elders, partner charities, and civic supporters to reflect on an extraordinary year of grassroots achievement.
The festive afternoon served as both a heartfelt celebration of individual learner triumphs and an opportunity to recognize the dedicated volunteer team whose weekly commitment makes our free digital skills, health, and wellbeing programmes possible.
Recognizing Our Volunteer Mentors & Champions
The cornerstone of Connect Talent CIO is our volunteer network. During the ceremony, trustees presented formal commendations and appreciation gifts to tech tutors, classroom assistants, and outreach coordinators who collectively contributed thousands of hours of community support throughout 2025.
Festive Fellowship & Hot Cultural Buffet
Guests enjoyed a complimentary multi-course hot festive buffet featuring traditional and cultural dishes. For many older neighbours and vulnerable individuals, the gathering provided crucial warmth, laughter, and lasting social connection during the winter season.
Looking Ahead to Our 2026 Centenary Initiatives
The leadership team unveiled strategic priorities for 2026, including the launch of our Salford Centenary community initiatives, enhanced cybersecurity tutoring, expanded laptop distribution, and new dyslexia-tailored learning pods.
